Our stay at the holiday park was a mixed bag. The lagoon pool was fantastic and spacious, perfect for relaxing and taking a dip. We loved the modern amenities and the fun little town section with quirky cabins. However, the cleanliness of the cabin left much to be desired, making our overall experience less enjoyable. The park had its moments, but the downsides really overshadowed the positives for us.

The cabin we stayed in was spacious but not very clean, especially under the fridge and around the kitchen area.

Service was lacking, especially related to pool regulations and cleanliness; issues were reported but not addressed during our stay.

The amenities, especially the lagoon pool, were more modern compared to other parks, but the cleanliness was disappointing.

We had a nice stay at the resort with plenty of family-friendly activities and decent accommodations. The location right by the river offered beautiful views and access to great amenities including a lovely pool and camp kitchen. However, our cabin could have been cleaner, and the Wi-Fi service was a bit hit or miss. Despite this, we found good value for our money given the overall experience.

The duplex cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed, including a dishwasher and laundry facilities. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, which was disappointing for the price we paid.

The resort offers great facilities such as a large pool and camp kitchen that were perfect for families. However, some areas, like the kids' play area, were a bit dated.

Merool Holiday Park is a lovely spot right by the Murray River, perfect for families looking to unwind. The pool is a fantastic feature, especially during hot weekends, and the cabins are quirky and cozy. However, the bathrooms could use a bit of an upgrade, and I found that there wasn’t quite enough space in the shared areas which can be a challenge with kids. Overall, it’s clean and tidy with good value for money.

We stayed in a Settlers Hut, and it was both cozy and clean. The kids loved the space with four bunks to explore, which kept them entertained for hours. I'd rate the rooms a solid 8 out of 10 for comfort and cleanliness.
Service
7.0
The service was generally good, but I did experience a little wait during peak periods for booking side-by-side campsites. Still, I appreciated the ease of checking in and overall, found it satisfactory. I would give the service a 7 out of 10.
Location
9.0
Located right next to the Murray River, Merool offers beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s also close to some great local attractions, which is a plus. I’d rate the location a 9 out of 10.
Dining

While we mainly used the barbeque area, it was clean and well-maintained, making for a pleasant dining experience. I didn’t find dining options around the park extensive, so I would rate it a 6 out of 10.
Facilities

The pool area was fantastic for beating the heat, plus the jumping pillow for kids would be a great addition for future visits. There’s a good amount of parking space as well. I’d rate the facilities an 8 out of 10.

I had a lovely long weekend at this park with my husband. We found our 1-bedroom unit to be absolutely brilliant, right on the water, providing a relaxing setting for our stay. The park is very clean and spacious, although it might not be perfect for families with kids. The amenities are well-maintained, but pricing was a bit steep during the long weekend.

Rooms

Our 1-bedroom unit was a good size for two, with a small kitchen, decent bathroom, and beautiful porch view of passing boats.

The pool area was terrific, and there are plenty of walking trails, although it might not cater much for children.

My stay at this resort was quite an experience, reminiscent of times gone by. While the setting tried to encapsulate a charming old-world feel, the overall condition of the cabins and amenities left much to be desired. The pool area was inviting in the heat, and I appreciated the cleanliness during my stay. However, I felt the cabins were outdated and lacked the charm of well-maintained accommodations. If you're looking for a genuine historic vibe, it might work for you, but don't expect modern comforts.

Rooms
5.0
The cabins felt quite old and were in need of a serious update. They lacked the charm that one might expect from a historical-themed stay.
Service
5.0
Although I interacted minimally with the service team, they were pleasant when available. However, there wasn't much evidence of management taking a keen interest in maintaining the facilities.
Location
6.0
The park is positioned in a somewhat isolated area, which offers a quiet retreat but keeps you away from more vibrant surroundings and attractions.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
While the pool area was well-kept and a great escape from the heat, other facilities felt neglected. The cabins lacked any modern amenities, which was disappointing.
